Products that are efficient in use and manufacture, reducing energy to run our company.
Climate change is arguably the greatest threat to the world’s environment.
We contribute to climate change through the heating and lighting requirements of our premises and through the exhaust emissions from our vehicle fleet. We also contribute indirectly to climate change by selling appliances and other products that need energy to manufacture and operate. We can reduce our impact through improving the energy efficiency of our premises and fleet and by encouraging our customers to undertake energy conservation measures within their businesses.
It is our policy to:
Identify all possible sources of greenhouse gas emissions in the business.
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our operations, in relation to the size of our business.
Investigate the opportunities for buying or generating energy from renewable sources or low carbon technologies as part of our development.
Reduce the quantity of mains water used.
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our vehicle fleet, in relation to the quantity of goods handled.
Work with suppliers to develop more energy efficient products and promote these to our customers.
Provide accurate energy efficiency labelling and information, so that our customers can make informed choices when purchasing electrical goods.
